The Escondido Public Library is seeking adult volunteers to help run the Knight’s Realm Chess Club for Kids. Volunteers provide instruction and monitor chess games for children ages 6-12. The chess club meets in the Children’s Room weekly, in the afternoon from 3:30-5:30. The Knight’s Realm Chess Club is a popular children’s program and runs throughout the year.
Chess Club Volunteer qualifications include:
- Knowledge of how to play chess
- Chess rules, terminology and strategy
- Ability to work well with children and parents
- Willingness to commit to a regular schedule, usually for 9 to12 months
- Ability to work independently
- Dependability
