StorytimeStorytime introduces young children to
reading and books.

Each week, our trained library staff and volunteers share stories, songs, and finger-play activities geared to certain ages. Parents learn how to foster six early literacy skills that are critical for preparing their children to read and write. These skills are:

  • Knowing how to handle a book
  • Hearing beginning sounds
  • Knowing letters are different from each other
  • Retelling stories and events
  • Introducing new words
  • Showing a joy of and interest in reading books

PLEASE NOTE: An adult must remain with babies and younger children at storytimes.
