Escondido, CA - Escondido Public Library invites readers to join the 2nd Tuesday Book Club meeting on September 8, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. in the Turrentine Room. This month’s selection is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. This book was specially selected by KPBS, and its partners, as the 2015 One Book, One San Diego community read title. Copies of the book are available for check-out in print or eBook format and can be reserved at library.escondido.org. Author Ruiz Zafón’s novel is an international bestseller, with over 15 million copies sold worldwide. The story takes place in Barcelona after the Spanish Civil War and centers on a young boy who sets out to protect a mysterious book with his life. It is a story about mystery, fantasy and love.
The 2nd Tuesday Book Club will continue on October 13, 2015, with Life after Life by Kate Atkinson. The selection for November 10, 2015, will be Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter.
