3D Printing

Introducing: Taz!

Taz is the Library's Lulzbot Taz 6 3D printer, located in the lobby of the Library. Taz will be printing objects submitted by patrons and you can watch it at work during the Library's open hours. Since 2018, Taz and his brother have been used by Library staff at STEAM/STEM outreach events at local Escondido schools and the San Diego Children's Discovery Museum, as well as for Library events such as Star Wars Day, Dads & Donuts, Digital Petting Zoo, and many others.

The Library will host free public classes on a monthly basis for creating 3D printed objects using a free, web based platform called TinkerCAD. Classes will be held on the last Friday of the month at 4 p.m.. While classes are free, space is limited and registration is required at www.escondidolibrary.org/register. Class listings can be found on the event listings page of the Library website at www.escondidolibrary.org/libevents.
