Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library announces the scheduled performers for the 2016 –2017 2nd Saturday Concert Series season, opening on November 12, 2016. Free musical performances will be held on the second Saturday of each month from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. from November 2016 through May 2017. All performances take place in the Library’s Turrentine Room.

April 8, 2107 Adrienne Nims and Spirit Wind - Contemporary jazz
May 13, 2017 Minna Han and Joo-In Lee – Classical piano and violin virtuosos
The Q-Ban Street Band opens the season with pulsing Cuban Salsa, Bachata, and Timba music on, November 12, 2016. Bachata is a popular guitar-based, dance music that originated in the Dominican Republic; Timba, is based on classic Cuban music, along with salsa, American funk/R&B, and the strong influence of Afro-Cuban folkloric music. Maritza Baida, special guest and director of Baila Cubano San Diego, will show interested audience members some Cuban dances while her dance group demonstrates moves to the beat of the Q-Ban Street Band.
