Free Dads & Donuts All-Ages Event at Escondido Public Library!

Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library will host the first ever Dads & Donuts on Saturday, May 5, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. This interactive, all-ages event includes free giveaways and will celebrate Free Comic Book Day, Star Wars culture, and promote family bonding.

Dads (and male caregivers), bring your kids to the library to mingle with fellow dads, enjoy free donuts and coffee, pick out a free comic book (while supplies last), play a virtual reality game, and watch a 3D printer demonstration. Kids may come dressed as Star Wars characters and be entertained with educational, age appropriate activities.

This program is sponsored by Friends of the Escondido Public Library. Library programs are free and open to the public. Escondido Public Library Hosts Strategic Plan Meeting

Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library invites the community to attend a Strategic Planning meeting. This will be held in the Turrentine Room, upstairs at Escondido Public Library on Tuesday, May 1, from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

By participating, you will have the opportunity to identify current conditions, create a vision of the library for the future, as well as develop the steps needed to achieve these goals. Fight Fake News, and Other Amazing Events, at Escondido Public Library!

Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library offers special programming for adults during the month of May. All events are free, open to the public, and held in the Library’s Turrentine Room unless otherwise noted.

Escondido Public Library invites the community to Fight Fake News on Saturday, May 19, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Fake news is more than a label; it’s a problem that journalists must confront to gain the trust of their audience. Moderator Tom Jones, consumer/investigative producer for NBC 7, will talk with panelists about this growing phenomena and answer audience questions.

2nd Saturday Concert Series: From Beethoven to Broadway. Saturday, May 12, 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This horn-piano duo will perform the most requested pieces from their 25-year chamber music collaboration, with songs from Beethoven to Mancini.

 

Local Authors Night. Tuesday, May 29, 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

You are invited to participate in a reading night with local authors and learn tips to improve your writing.

Escondido Public Library Hosts Spring Events for Families

Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library offers special programming for Children and their Families during the month of April. All events are free, open to the public, and scheduled to take place in the Library’s Turrentine Room.
 

  • P.J. Storytime- Hop into Spring for children ages 4-12 and their families on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wear your P.J.s and bring your favorite stuffed animal to an evening storytime at the library.
     
  • Composting for a Greener Planet for children ages 5-12 and their families on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Learn how composting can be good for the environment with the City of Escondido Recycling Department, and take home your own seeds to grow!

 

  • Dia de los Niños, Dia de los Libros Celebration for children ages 5-12 and their families on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Celebrate Children’s Day, Book Day and the joy of reading with bilingual stories and songs from Mexico and around the world. There will be traditional tissue paper flower bouquet and paper bag puppet crafts until 4:30 p.m. Participating children ages 5–12 may receive a free book (while supplies last).
