podcastingThe Escondido Public Library will be offering computer classes on recording and editing your own podcast. These classes are part of the LibraryYOU project which is collecting and sharing local knowledge through the new LibraryYOU website. LibraryYOU is supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian. Its goal is to teach the community about communicating through new media formats and to supplement the library's collection with digital media created by the local community.

Record & Edit Your Own Podcast classes will take place Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 31 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Main Library. Each class will explore the basics of sound recording, editing, and podcasting. Attendees will learn about using portable recorders, microphones, and sound editing software.

These classes are free and open to the public. Class sizes will be small to provide more assistance to each student. Registration is required. More information and online registration may be found at: http://libraryyou.escondido.org/classes.aspx or by calling 760-839-4828.
