Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Amazon.com: Red Queen (Red Queen, 1) (9780062310644): Aveyard, Victoria: Books

In Mare Barrow's world, people are divided by blood. People with red blood are commoners and are often poor, while silver-blooded people are the elite with powers. Mare Barrow finds herself in the lowest of the low. Her family is poor, she is red blooded, and she doesn't have a special talent, like her sister Gisa. Mare fears that she will be drafted into the war. When she is caught pickpocketing, from a silver, she is sent to work at the royal palace, where her life is changed forever.

This was an interesting book because as Mare's life is changed forever, she meets many new people along the way, learns a lot about herself, and she even learns the dark secrets held by the royal family. With an amazing plot twist, this book is very exciting.

For anyone looking for a good storyline and fast paced book, this is the one for you! I couldn't put this book down. Any gender will like this book, it has a really good story.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Rainbow Rowell - Box Set: Fangirl & Carry On by Rainbow RowellOne boy is the "Chosen One", but horrible at magic. The other boy is amazing at magic, but a vampire. Baz and Simon are roommates at a magic school, but have huge differences. They hate and do not trust each other. But, they have to work together (with the help of Simon's friends) to figure out who murdered Baz's mother.

Carry On is a great book full of fun, magic, romance, and conflict between characters. Though, before you read it, you should read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell to understand where the characters began their journey.

I would recommend this book for teens. It is a #1 New York Times Best Selling book, and I see why.  It is similar to Harry Potter in some ways, so if you liked it then I COMPLETELY recommend this book.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini

Image result for eragon book coverThe book is about a teenage boy named Eragon who finds a dragon egg. Eragon is suddenly thrown into many trials and challenges in order to fight against an evil power and save his own life along with the lives of others.

The book Eragon was a very well written book in my opinion. I liked it because it was able to hold my attention and I never wanted to put the book down because it got boring. There were plenty of action sequences and the author was really good at making you feel different emotions throughout the book. All in all, it was a good book.

I would definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy fantasy and action packed books. People who enjoy the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit would enjoy Eragon because Paolini writes with a similar style to Tolkien.
