MatchedThis book revolves around Cassia Maria Reyes' life in the Society, where officials decide where you work, when you die, and who you love. Cassia is matched with her best friend but cannot bring herself to love him after she sees another face on the Matching screen and begins to fall in love with Ky instead of Xander.

I truly loved and enjoyed the book, Matched. The plot line was very interesting and captivating, I would find myself not being able to put the book down.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves dystopian novels, romance, and love triangles. If you liked books such as The Hunger Games or Divergent you will definitely love Matched.

Confessions of a Murder Suspect

by James Patterson
06/05/2013 Categories: murder mystery

Confessions of a Murder SuspectThe parents of the perfectionist Angel family, Malcolm and Maud Angel, are mysteriously murdered one night. Being the only ones in the house, their children are noted as suspects. Malcolm and Maud's only daughter, Tandy Angel, begins investigating to find the murderer. As she puts together the pieces of this perilous puzzle, she discovers secrets about her parents, family, and herself.

Confessions of a Murder Suspect is a solid murder mystery. I enjoyed the short breaks between chapters that provided extra exposition and detail. The characters are all interesting and Tandy's narration is both funny and perspicacious. Aside from that, the only fault of the novel is that there isn't much to separate it from other murder mysteries out there.

Nevertheless, if anyone needs a decent murder mystery, Confessions of a Murder Suspect is definitely worth a try. I recommend it for its narration, characters, and an ending that will make you want more.

Hide and Seek: a Lying Game novel

by Sara Shepard
06/05/2013 Categories: love triangles murder mystery romance siblings

Hide and SeekHide and Seek is the fourth book in the Lying Game series, and continues to follow Emma Paxton's search for her sister's murderer. Emma continues to impersonate Sutton, her dead twin sister, in the hopes that she will find her killer and be able to return to her normal life. But her search becomes more complicated as Sutton's secret boyfriend arrives. Now Emma needs to lie to the boy who loved her sister.

I really liked this book. It had some really crazy plot twists and major cliff hangers that would not let me put the book down. The characters are really endearing and you find yourself rooting for Emma who desperately wants to find her sister's murderer, and return to being herself.

Yes, I would recommend this book to others but most likely to girls who like a good mystery book. It would be a good read to those who like the Pretty Little Liars series also written by Sara Shepard. Girls would love this book because it has love triangles and really crazy plot twists.

The Fault in Our Stars is a definite page turner! This book is also one of the saddest books I've ever read. John Green knows how to make readers cry oceans.

Son

by Lois Lowry
05/22/2013 Categories: dystopia family drama sci fi

SonThis book is the sequel to The Giver. Son is about Claire, the mother of a young boy named Gabe. Gabe gets taken from Caire at birth, and she starts this big journey to find him.

I did like this book because it has sort of a dystopian setting. I also like this book because it is told by the point of Claire and not Jonas (a boy in the community).

I would recommend this to others because I think this book has a great plot and is not too intense for younger people

Hunger GamesThe book is about a girl name Katniss Everdeen. Her sister is picked for the hunger games (where teens fight to the death and there is one winner). Katniss volunteers in the place of her younger sister and fights to the death in the hunger games.

I really liked this book because of the love story and the fight scenes it had.

Yes, I would recommend this book to others of an older age of about 13 because of some the the intense fight scenes and the sort of love triangle that goes on. But over all, I really like this book.

To Kill a Mockingbird

by Harper Lee

To Kill a MockingbirdThe book is about the Finch family taking on a court case. Supposedly a black man raped a white woman and it caused a big stir because some people believed he was innocent.

I liked it because it was in a way fighting racism. Back in the 30's a white man's word was always right over a black man's word but Atticus did not care and still took on the case.

I would recommend it to others who like sort of old timely books. I would also recommend it to people who like books on fighting racism.
