Escondido Creek Trail construction begins This Week

The City of Escondido is happy to announce construction will start on the Escondido Creek Trail project. Construction crews will begin preliminary work this week with surveying the area and locating utilities. The full start of construction will begin the following week, with work taking place between Citracado Parkway and Quince Street.  The project is expected to wrap up in late 2025, pending any unforeseen delays.

What to expect throughout the project

Construction will commence at Citracado Parkway and generally move from west to east through completion at North Midway Drive. Construction hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, with exception of City recognized holidays.

Residents can expect standard construction noise, dust and traffic delays. This construction will NOT impact access to homes and businesses.

Upcoming work:

In the upcoming weeks, construction crews will begin removing sections of fence along the trail and replacing it with a temporary fence. Work will shift from Citracado Parkway and Quince Street to North Broadway and Juniper Street once this section of work is completed.
