The Downtown Escondido Makeover Continues: Grand Avenue

Construction Updates

The finish line is in sight! We are excited to share that the work along Grand Avenue is nearly complete! This week, crews will finish all landscaping work, striping, signage, sidewalk sealant and patching, and sandblasting around the Broadway roundabout. Crews are also working hard to clean up construction related debris, including power washing windows and buildings and street sweeping. Crews are working hard to open Grand Avenue by the end of this week!

Over the next few weeks, crews will continue to install decorative fencing outside of businesses. We appreciate your patience as we put the final touches on this major update!

Traffic Reminders: As construction wraps up, please be aware that through traffic is closed from Kalmia to Maple and at the Broadway intersection along Grand Avenue. Alternative routes are available at Valley Parkway and 2nd Avenue. Please follow all traffic signage and be aware of ongoing construction. While most pedestrian barricades have been removed, please be aware of closed areas and stay on designated walkways for your safety.

Final touches are being added to Grand Avenue.
