Escondido, CA - Rincón Literario (The Literary Corner), Escondido Public Library’s bilingual book discussion group, will meet on Saturday, May 25th from 3:30 – 4:45 PM in the Library’s Board Room. Author and journalist, Miriam Ruvinskis, will lead the discussion in both English and Spanish.
La cupula / Under the Dome, a thriller by Stephen King is the selected book for May’s discussion. On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Maine, a small town is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage and cars explode on impact. Families are separated and panic mounts. No one can fathom what the barrier is, where it came from, and when – or if – it will go away.
“I encourage you to read this exciting book” said Adult Services Librarian Paul Crouthamel. “When you discuss a great book with others who have read it, you can share your perspectives and learn how other people might have interpreted the story differently. The discussions are a perfect way to discuss interesting books and converse in both languages”
Rincón Literario meets regularly on the last Saturday of each month to explore literature published in English and Spanish. In June Rincon Literario readers will discuss La distancia entre nosotros / The Distance Between Us by Reyna Grande.
Rincón Literario is made possible by generous support from the Friends of the Escondido Public Library. This program is free and open to the public.
