Escondido Public Library Hosts Burritos & Book Club for Teens

Escondido, CA Escondido Public Library will host a new program for teens, ages 13 to 18 years, called Burritos & Book Club. At Burritos & Book Club, teens get together every other month to discuss a selected title and exchange ideas and opinions while enjoying complimentary burritos. The first Burritos & Book Club will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2015, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the Library’s Turrentine Room. All subsequent meetings will be held bi-monthly at the same time and location.

The introductory meeting will provide teens with information about the book club and there will be a general discussion about what the group should read in the future. Teens are encouraged to bring their favorite book(s) to the meeting. Teens will also take part in selecting the title for the next meeting which will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2015. All participants will receive a free book or audiobook at the end of the first program.

Registration for the first meeting is not required, but registration will be required for future meetings. Beginning Thursday, February 5, 2015, teens can register for the next meeting and check-out a copy of the selected title at the Adult Information Desk, located on the first floor.

Cathy Janovitz, Escondido Public Library’s Teen Librarian commented, “We’ve had a lot of teens asking for a teen book club so we’re introducing Burritos & Book Club to welcome the New Year. Burritos & Book Club takes place in a relaxed and social setting, tailored just for teens. You could say Burritos & Book Club is good for body and mind. How can you miss with complimentary burritos and free Library books?”
