Escondido, CA- Literacy and Lifelong Learning’s Families for Literacy (FFL) will host a summer program, Playing It Strong! Literature Alive, for families enrolled in Literacy Services. Parents and their 3rd to 6th graders will attend a total of eight meetings. In these meetings families will expand their knowledge about theater and playwriting, as they learn about scripts, skits, and plays. Brenda Townsend, from The Patio Playhouse, will facilitate the scriptwriting process including fun and interactive theater activities with the families. This program will take place every Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM from July 9, 2013 to August 1, 2013. It will be held in the Turrentine Room, located on the second floor of Escondido Public Library, and presented by Literacy Services. Literature Alive is a continuation of FFL’s Playing It Strong! program.
