Escondido, CA - Opera Exposed!, a program of operatic selections, will be performed at Escondido Public Library on Saturday, January 9th, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Turrentine Room. Emerging vocalists perform selections from familiar operas to entertain and educate, as well as to promote the San Diego Opera’s 2016 season.
“San Diego Opera’s Opera Exposed! program is made up of undergraduate singers from the University of San Diego, Point Loma Nazarene University, and San Diego State University enthusiastically spreading knowledge and the joy of opera!” said Dr. Nicholas Reveles, the San Diego Opera Company’s Director of Education and Community Engagement. Dr. Reveles will accompany the singers on piano and provide commentary on the great stories behind operas such as Tosca, Madame Butterfly, and Great Scott.
The 2nd Saturday Concert Series runs through May 2016 and features an array of classical, jazz, and other diverse musical styles. February’s concert presents Mohavi Soul, performing traditional bluegrass and original music by guitarist Mark Miller and mandolinist Randy Hanson.
