Escondido, CA - Rincón Literario (The Literary Corner), Escondido Public Library’s Bilingual Book Discussion Group, will meet on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. in the Turrentine Room. Senior Library Associate Cecy Rayphole will lead the discussion of this month’s selection, La chica del tren/The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, in both English and Spanish. Copies of the book are available for check out and may be reserved in the Library catalog at library.escondido.org.
Every morning Rachel takes the same commuter train, passes the same suburban homes, and stops at a signal that allows her to see the same couple routinely having breakfast on their deck. Then one day, during her trip, she sees something shocking. Suddenly, her life takes a turn from the mundane to the thrilling, yet horrifying. Rachel alerts the police and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Was it a mistake to get involved?
Rincón Literario will meet next month, on Saturday, February 27, 2016 to discuss Isabel Allende’s new novel, El amante japonés/The Japanese Lover.
Rincón Literario is made possible by generous support from Friends of the Escondido Public Library. This program is free and open to the public.
