Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library will offer two tutorials on how to use eReaders to download free library eBooks. On Monday, June 30, 2014 “A Kindle Safari” will teach Amazon Kindle owners how to access eBooks online from the Library’s catalog. On Tuesday, July 15, 2014, “Train your Tablet for eBooks” is designed for iPad, Android, or Windows tablet owners who want to set-up their device to download eBooks from the Library. Both programs are free and begin at 6:00 PM in the Library’s Turrentine Room. Registration is not required. Participants should bring their Kindle or tablet eReader device. The Escondido Public Library is located at 239 South Kalmia Street in Escondido, CA 92025.
Paul Crouthamel, Adult Services Supervisor, commented, “Most eReaders, like Kindles, are given as presents to avid readers. Readers who love print books and browsing the shelves of well-stocked libraries may not be sure how to browse the library’s eBook collection and download them. These programs take the mystery out of how to perform the one-time set up for their eReader. The classes will demonstrate how eReader devices whether a Kindle or tablet, are very easy to use once set-up and can be a convenient tool for the bibliophile and book lover.”
Both programs are part of the Library’s 2014 Adult Summer Reading Club, Paws to Read. The Summer Reading Club runs from June 23 to August 2, 2014. Starting June 23, adults can enroll by visiting the Library in-person or by registering via the Library’s website at library.escondido.org/adultSRC. Registration runs through July 19, 2014.
Escondido Public Library offers Summer Reading Clubs for all ages and events are sponsored by the Friends of Escondido Public Library. All programs are free and open to the public.
