Escondido Public Library and Pioneer Room Friends Present the Story of Hollandia Dairy

Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library, and the Pioneer Room Friends, will host The Story of Hollandia Dairy, presented by second-generation owner, Arie de Jong, on Tuesday October 20, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. in the Turrentine Room.

Local dairyman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Arie de Jong tells the story of North San Diego County's Hollandia Dairy, founded by Arie's father in 1950. It is the story of an immigrant family of 12 leaving the Netherlands and risking everything to create a new life for themselves in Escondido. Arie De Jong’s story will appeal to all local history enthusiasts interested in Escondido - then and now.

The Story of Hollandia Dairy is sponsored by the Pioneer Room Friends, a support group dedicated to preserving and promoting Escondido Public Library’s local history and genealogy archive. This presentation is the highlight of their annual meeting.
