Fall 2015 Storytime Programs at Escondido Public Library

Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library offers a number of storytime programs this fall, designed for babies, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten children. Storytime programs are filled with fun songs, stories, fingerplays, flannel board presentations, puppets, and craft activities that encourage the development of early literacy and reading skills.

Escondido Public Library’s 2015 fall storytime schedule includes:

  • Rhymes and Reading on Mondays at 11:00 a.m., for children, ages 4-5;
  • Baby Lapsit on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, September 1 — November 18, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., for newborn babies to pre-walkers;
  • Toddler Tales on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, September 1—November 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., for toddlers who are walking, up to 3 years-old;

  • Cowboy Charlie on the 4th Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m., for children ages 3-5 years.

The Library’s storytime programs address early literacy skills that are important in preparing children for school. Each storytime program is planned and presented with the following in mind: parents are their child’s first and most important teacher;

storytime facilitates bonding between parents and young children. Storytimes provide a positive experience with books and play that often leads to a life-long love of reading and learning.
