Literacy and Lifelong Learning’s FFL will host a spring program, Playing It Strong! Goes Into the Wild! This program is from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Thursdays, April 25th, May 2nd; and 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Playing It Strong! Goes into the Wild!  is a continuation of FFL’s winter program, where families and their children in grades 3rd to 6th identified  their talents and strengths. Now, children will be connecting their knowledge from the 1st module of Playing It Strong!, while learning about animals.

Parents and their 3rd to 6th graders will attend three meetings. In the first two meetings they will learn about animal traits and characteristics. Through interactive activities they will learn that like humans, animals have traits and characteristics that make them unique. Children will also do a special project on an animal they think most resembles their own personality and talents. The third meeting will be a field trip to the Safari Park for the families that participated in the last two sessions.

This program was funded in part by the Wisdom Foundation. It is free and open to families in need of literacy services. It will be held in the Turrentine Room, located on the second floor of Escondido Public Library, and presented by Literacy Services. Please contact Literacy Department Specialist, Veronica Botello, at (760)747-1221 to register or for additional Information.
