At the Escondido Public Library, we offer a wide-range of programs to support local authors! From the Escondido Writers Group to our Local Author Collection, our goal is to nurture and foster local writing and talent in the Escondido area and beyond! Shekinah Kifer

Shekinah Kifer is an editor and poet who has worked for several literary journals including Poetry International, pacificREVIEW, and Fiction International. She is a graduate of San Diego State University, where she earned both her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Master’s degree in Children’s Literature. Shekinah currently resides in Escondido and often be found wandering the stacks of nearby libraries and bookstores looking for her next favorite story.

Devan Crable

Devan Crable writes as S. Benjdar. She is the author of Love Kills A Curse which will be published this Spring, 2023, a fantasy-romance story filled with time travel and a love triangle. Currently, she is working on a two-book series entitled Chaotic Web. She is also the host of two critique groups and a participant in two others.
