Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library will host Read for the Record: Quackers Storytime for children ages 4-8 on Thursday, October 19 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Be part of the world’s largest shared reading experience with stories, crafts, and songs featuring the 2017 Jumpstart Read for the Record title Quackers by Liz Wong. Presented in partnership with the Rincon del Diablo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is an annual nationwide campaign to have the world’s largest shared reading experience to highlight the importance of building early literacy and language skills. Throughout the year Rincon del Diablo chapter members support education and literacy in a variety of ways and in 2016 won a DAR award for literacy promotion. “Quackers is a delightful story of a kitten who thinks it is a duck. Families are in for a treat.” said Dan Wood, the Library’s Youth Services Senior Librarian.
