Escondido, CA - Escondido Public Library invites adult readers to join the 2nd Tuesday Book Club meeting on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Turrentine Room. Book Club members should note this one-time change of date. This month’s selection is The Nest by Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney. Copies of the book are available for check out and may be reserved in the Library catalog at library.escondido.org.
Sweeney’s widely celebrated debut novel covers the intricacies of relationships, events that jeopardize their existence, and the complex yet unbreakable ties we share with those we love. The book club will discuss the power of family, friendships, dependency, and the ways we let one another down.
The following day, September 12, 2017, author Chris Bohjalian will speak about his novel, The Sandcastle Girls, at 7:00 p.m. at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. RSVP is required for this free event at www.kpbs.org/sandcastlenorth.
This book was selected for the county-wide One Book, One San Diego book club by KPBS and its partner libraries across San Diego county, including Escondido Public Library.
