Winter and Spring Storytime Programs at Escondido Public Library

12/12/2016 Categories: Children Storytime

Escondido, CA – Escondido Public Library offers a variety of storytime programs this winter and spring designed for babies, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten children. Storytime programs are filled with songs, fingerplays, flannel board presentations, puppets and, of course, stories just right for the development of young minds. Library staff are happy to help families find books to check out after program.

Escondido Public Library’s 2017 Winter and Spring Storytime Schedule begins January 5, 2017 and runs through May 15, 2017 and includes:

  • Rhymes and Reading on Mondays at 11:00 a.m. for children ages 3-5;
  • Toddler Tales, a bilingual program, on Thursdays in January and March at 10:30 a.m. for toddlers who are walking and up to 3 years-old;
  • Baby Lapsit on Thursdays in February and April at 10:30 a.m. for newborn babies to pre-walkers.

Note: Rhymes and Reading will not meet on April 17 and 24, 2017.

Escondido Public Library’s storytime programs address the development of early literacy skills that are important in preparing children for school. Each storytime program is planned and presented around the idea that parents are their child’s first and most important teacher. Storytimes facilitate bonding between parents and young children and provide a positive experience with books and play that leads to a life-long love of reading and learning.

Library programs are free, open to the public, and sponsored by the Friends of the Escondido Public Library.
