Deaccessioning
Deaccessioning or the process of disposing an item from an art collection, will need to be considered given the state of maintenance and repair of various public artwork. This process will be considered when in the best interest of the public, the work has degraded, it causes excessive or unreasonable maintenance, or the location is no longer suitable. Should the artwork be deaccessioned, a review will be conducted of the agreements, maintenance records, and other documentation before determination of a final resolution.
