Call for Artists: Shaping Escondido’s Identity Through Public Art
As part of the Grand Avenue Vision Project, the City of Escondido's Public Art Commission is undergoing the selection process to identify potential artists or artist teams to create a sculpture and companion pieces that reflect the theme Authentically Escondido. This will include the primary sculpture at the Grand Avenue and Broadway intersection roundabout. The companion pieces will be installed throughout the City to refer back to the main sculpture on Grand Avenue.
Timeline
- Release of Request for Qualifications: July 21, 2025
- Submissions Deadlines: August 22, 2025, at 5 p.m. PDT
- Public Art Commission confirms subcommittee recommendations: November 10, 2025
- Public Input starts late December 2025 through January 2026
