Business License

 Whether you're a startup or expanding, our Business License process is streamlined. 

• Anyone who conducts business within the City of Escondido, is required to obtain a business license, even if the business headquarters is not in the City boundaries.
  • For example: construction contractors, booths at antique stores or swap meets, and technology consultants.
  • Not authorized to conduct business until the license has been approved.
• A license is issued to a specific owner, and a change in ownership requires a new application.
• A Business License is valid for one year and must be renewed annually. 
  • Failure to renew will result in penalties of 25% per month (not to exceed 100%)
• Business Licenses are approved for a specific location.
  • Any move (change of address) will require a new supplemental form and review process, which will incur a $20.00 change of address fees.
• Your active Business License will be emailed to you upon approval.
