  • Annual 4th Grade Water Awareness Poster contest - Join the tradition! Since 1991, 4th graders in the Escondido water district have participated in our annual poster contest. Winning students and their teachers are awarded prizes and will have their art featured in a regional calendar and on the city website. Poster submission deadline is June 15, 2020.

Virtual Tours

  • Visit museums

Google Arts and Culture partnered with over 2,500 museums and galleries around the world to offer virtual tours of their spaces. Some of the options include New York’s Museum of Modern Art and Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum. The Louvre, based in Paris, is also offering its own virtual tour online for free.

 

  • Explore national parks

National parks are providing virtual tours of America’s most popular parks. Virtual visitors can travel through the trails of Yellowstone National Park, as well as the Yosemite National Park.

 

  • Tour California State Parks with a Park Ranger

Parks Online Resources for Teachers and Students (PORTS) program provides FREE live interactive videoconference programs (virtual field trips) to expand learning beyond the classroom walls. K-12 students from California and around the world are connecting with live interpretive rangers and learning academic content standards within the context of California’s dynamic state park system.

 

  • Visit the Zoo

Spaces like the San Diego Zoo, the Georgia Aquarium and the Monterey Bay Aquarium are offering live webcam viewings of pandas, penguins and beluga whales.

 

  • Tour the Great Wall of China

A tour of the Great Wall of China is available for anyone who’s ever wanted to visit this wonder of the world.

 

  • Go to Mars

NASA partnered with Google to offer a tour of a 3D replica of the Martian surface recorded by the Curiosity rover.
